Cheap and 300ZX don't fit in the same category. Even if you find a "cheaply" priced Z, you will end up putting a lot of money into it (and unfortunately, even if you buy an expensively priced one, you'll still put a lot of money into it). 2+2 back seats are alright for a 5 year old I guess, but not much more than that (ok, maybe a briefcase too). As for years, 90-96 (the only years they're available in the U.S.) are hardly different from each other. Always little changes resulting in hardly noticable differences. I suppose the 94 and 95 ones are favorable because of the newer injector style, but since you're looking for an NA and you're not going to mod it (so you might thing right now, but you'll want to someday), a 96 would be fine also. But on the other hand, 90, 91, 92, and 93 model years are all good too, you'll never see someone post that they wish they had gotten a 199X model instead of a 199Y model. What to look for? Same stuff you would usually look for really, if you were buying a Twin Turbo, there'd be different stuff to look for. Here's a few links to get you started: scroll down to the Z Ownership links, then click Buying a Z car tips: what to watch for and select 4th generation Z and from our own FAQ What to look for when buying a used 300ZX
